This is your loving Co-Pres Haldan speaking. I got a chance to have a nice chat with Frank today and we together came to a decision about the planning of the Beltaine ritual. It will be done across the course of two-three meetings (depending on how well things go). The meetings will be as follows:
Prior to PODS on Thursday, February 25, 5:30 pm-6:30 pm
This meeting will be a general brainstorming meetings. The emphasis will be on "What are good ideas for a Beltaine Ritual" and Frank and myself will add in ideas that we have already discussed some.
Prior to PODS on Thursday, March 3, 5:30 pm-6:30 pm
This meeting will be to take the list from the prior week and pick out the ideas that work. New ideas will most likely not be heard since that was the purpose of the prior meeting. Emphasis will be on actual ritual elements and ordering of the elements.
Prior to PODS on Thursday, March 17, 5:30 pm-6:30 pm
Depending on how things go, this meeting may not be required. If it occurs, the emphasis will be on finalizing plans, possible filling in some gaps that people will work on over the break period.
The finalized ritual will be presented to the group on March 17th. PLEASE NOTE: The presentation will not be a discussion session, unless it is to point out a major flaw (example: not appropriate cleansing done). This is not a time to complain and state that it should be done a different way, that is what the planning sessions are for.
If you are unable to attend these meetings but would like to put forth input, you may email it to me in advance and I will present your ideas for you (I may email you back asking questions so that I understand fully what you are going for) at Haldan.Smith@uconn.edu or you can IM me at GloryOfTheStorm on AIM. Your ideas can be as indepth or generalized as desired. Thank you all for your co-operation in our attempts at a smooth planning process and getting it out of the way early so we ALL can concentrate on the symposium.
Thank you for your time,
Co-President of UConnPODS
